A worktop in a lab is wiped down many times a day, takes the weight and knocks of equipment and sits beside a sink that is never quite dry. Compact HPL handles all of it without a weak core or a glued-on edge.
The compact core does not absorb water, so sinks and wet areas are not a weak point.
The non-porous surface wipes clean and tolerates routine disinfectants.

Worktops are cut to size with sink, tap and service cut-outs machined before delivery, so installation is assembly, not improvisation.
