Choosing between granite and marble
Neither is better in every room. Granite is the workhorse; marble is the showpiece.

The detail that shows
Marble is cut from blocks, so neighbouring slabs share their veining. Lay them in the order they were cut and a floor reads as one sheet of stone. Lay them as they come and every joint becomes a break. We dry-lay and number the pieces first, so you approve the pattern before anything is fixed.

Fixing light marble
Grey cement-based adhesive can show through light-coloured or translucent stone and cause dark patches. A white, non-staining adhesive avoids this. It is a small line item that decides whether a white marble floor still looks white once it is down.
How we install stone

You see and approve the stone before cutting, so veining and shade are what you expect.

Pieces are laid out in sequence to match veins across joints.

The base is levelled and, in wet areas, waterproofed.

Tight joints, colour-matched grout and on-site polishing where required.

A penetrating sealer protects against stains from day one.

Care after installation
We supply stone-safe cleaners, stain removers and colour-enhancing sealers from the Mapei UltraCare range, and we will show you which product to use and how often.
