Showroom · Rajagiriya, Colombo
Finishes chosen from a printed swatch cause more late change orders on Sri Lankan projects than anything else. Our building materials showroom in Colombo holds physical samples of paints, textures, HPL, tiles and stone at panel scale, in natural light. Book a visit and a technical team member walks the build-up with you. New to choosing suppliers? Start with our building material supplier guide.
Why visit
Three things do not survive reproduction on a screen or a printed card: scale, sheen and texture depth. A stone texture that reads subtle on a 50mm swatch can look aggressive across a full elevation. Metallic and multicolour finishes also shift substantially with viewing angle.
Sheen is the one that catches people out. A level that looks premium under showroom downlights can show every substrate flaw under raking daylight. Seeing a finish at panel scale, in the light it will live in, removes the most expensive kind of change order.
Light quality matters as much as quantity. Screens and cheap lamps have a poor colour rendering index, so a warm neutral on a monitor can read cold on site. Daylight near our windows is the fairest test we can offer.
A pattern that charms on a swatch can overwhelm a wall. Panels show it at a size you can judge.
Gloss level changes how much of the substrate you see. Raking light tells the truth quickly.
On the floor
The showroom is organised by material category rather than by brand. That lets you decide across systems instead of within one supplier's range - comparing a stone texture against an HPL panel for the same facade, for example.
Much of what you see is also listed online among our Premium building materials, so you can shortlist before you arrive.
Make it count
A showroom visit is most productive as a specification session rather than a browse. Bring the documents below and we can check substrate compatibility, confirm the system build-up, and flag anything with an indent lead time your programme cannot absorb.
Where a specified product has become unavailable, we propose compliant alternatives there and then. Architects and specifiers can leave with data sheets and method statements for approval submissions.
Visit planner - what to bring
After the visit
Sample boards can be prepared for client presentations and site mock-ups. For colour-critical work - particularly texture, metallic and multicolour finishes - a mock-up on the actual substrate is the only reliable sign-off.
We would rather you approve from a mock-up than from a board. A board sits in office light; your wall sits in Colombo sun, monsoon overcast and evening shade, often in the same week.

Quick answers
A focused specification session usually takes under an hour. Bringing drawings and a schedule makes it faster, because we can check compatibility and lead times on the spot rather than following up later.
Yes. If your architect cannot attend, share the specification beforehand and we can prepare the relevant samples. Photos and data sheets can then be sent to them straight after the visit.
The showroom is open during published hours, however a booking guarantees a technical team member for your categories. Without one, you may need to wait or return for detailed specification advice.
What to expect
A booked session follows a simple sequence. It keeps the visit focused on what will work on your building, rather than on whatever happens to be on display that week.
We start from your drawings, schedule or photos, not from the display. Knowing the surfaces and exposure first means we only pull samples that could genuinely work, which saves you an hour of browsing.
Before colour, we narrow options by what each surface has to survive - weather, cleaning, foot traffic or hygiene audits. Anything unsuitable drops out at this stage, however attractive it looks.
Shortlisted samples sit next to each other, near daylight, at panel scale. This is where scale, sheen and texture depth usually settle a decision that a catalogue page never could.
We confirm stock status and lead times for the finalists, flagging any indent line your programme cannot absorb - before you commit your heart to it.
Data sheets, sample boards where useful, and a clear route to quotation. For colour-critical finishes, we agree a site mock-up on the real substrate as the final sign-off.
Who visits
Four kinds of visitor use the showroom, and each leaves with something different. Tell us which describes you when you book, and we prepare the right samples and documents in advance.
Test a palette against real materials, compare systems across categories, and collect approval documents in a single sitting instead of chasing them afterwards.
Get plain advice on which finish suits a bathroom, roof or feature wall, and see it at full scale before paying for it - without being steered to the most expensive option.
Confirm substitutions quickly when a specified product is unavailable, with data sheets ready for the consultant so the programme keeps moving.
Lock a finish schedule across phases, so every tower in a development draws on the same approved materials and the finishes still match years later.
